Welcome to the Seguin Valley Team!
Seguin Valley is committed to providing our employees and customers an environment that is fun, safe and rewarding. As a part of the team your role in the business is critical to the overall success of the vision and team.
The management team at Seguin Valley is excited for the season to start and have been working towards a successful and busy season. In efforts to be sensitive to the current pandemic and to reduce paper waste we have moved our staff on-boarding and employment documents to an online portal.
Your supervisor will provide you with a tour of the facility within a few days prior to your first shift where you will learn the following: Where your schedule and time-sheet is located, where the first-aid box, its associated documents and AED is located, where the Health and Safety board is located, Fire Plan and emergency procedures.
Mandatory Training - Worker Health and Safety Awareness
This online learning module takes 45 – 60 minutes to complete.
The module is unable to keep track of your progress, so it must be completed in one sitting.
Important Information
You will receive a “Proof of Completion” certificate once you complete the training. You must save and/or print the certificate before exiting the module.
The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development will not store your certificate, or keep a record of training. Please keep a copy for your records.
Module Requirements
This resource requires Internet Explorer (9 or 10), or Chrome 17 or higher. Those using Windows 7 as their operating system are advised to use Google Chrome 17+. Please ensure that all pop-up blockers are deactivated before accessing the eLearning module. Accessing the eLearning modules using mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets is not recommended.
WHIMIS
All workers are required to complete WHIMIS training on an annual basis.
This online video and quiz should take up to 45 minutes and you will be required to submit the proof of completion to your supervisor prior to your first shift. NOTE: The certificate is not saved at the end of the training. You MUST print or SCREEN SHOT at copy upon completion
Tax Documents
In order to have the correct source deductions removed from your paycheque we require both the Provincial and Federal forms to be completed.
If you do not have access to a printer, if you find this too complicated or you need help with the form in any way, you can complete these forms at the club on your first day of work.
SMART Serve
All front line employees who are in direct contact with customers are required to have smart serve training within 90 days of employment. The cost for the certification is under $40. Some local employment offices will conduct group training and some offer subsidies to cover the cost. This link takes you directly to the Smart Serve online training portal.
New Scheduling APP - When I Work
All clubhouse staff have a new App for their schedules. This app allows you to put in requests, make changes to shifts if you need to switch and communicate with each other. This is new and will take a bit of trial and error at first but I believe it will improve the scheduling of the club.
The app is downloadable to both Android or IPhones or onto IPad’s or other devices.
Staff Manual
The staff manual covers the clubs policies and rules. Page 16 must be printed and signed to signify you have understood and read the manual
AODA Policy
All employees are required to be trained in the Customer Service standard for People with Disabilities.
Follow the link for a 30 minute training module which provides you with a certificate upon completion.
Employment Standards
It is Seguin Valley’s responsibility to make sure each employee is aware of their rights with the Employment Standards Act. Please review and ask questions if you are unclear.
